I didn't say the boats are scrap value but I absolutely do think that you could not sell them for what they were valued at at 30/6 on the books...
So NTA assumptions might be out a bit...
In relation to other uses for the boats , I don't mean offence, but they do have a fixed operating cost per day of crew and fuel (even if you don't maintain the boats, depreciate them, or consider any cost of capital), so I don't think it's viable to run boats for just any low day rate... I appreciate your NZ spirit of innovation, but the cheques need to be paid here to run these machines ... So the cash needs to be paid up..
