DJ Sino Gold Cuts Jinfeng Output Guidance
MELBOURNE (Dow Jones)-- Sino Gold Mining Ltd. (SGX.AU)- Monday cut its forecast for 2008 gold production from its Jinfeng mine in China due to lower grades and the impact of power restrictions.
The company said the mine is now expected to produce between 150,000 and 160,000 ounces of gold in 2008, a reduction of 20,000 from previous guidance.
Sino Gold also announced the resource estimate at Jinfeng has risen 16% on year to 5.3 million ounces of gold, while reserves have risen by 11% on year to 3.5 million ounces.
The Sydney-based miner posted March quarter gold production from Jinfeng of 30,976 ounces, down from 32,186 ounces in the December quarter.
Sino Gold said its White Mountain gold project remains on budget and is progressing well towards commissioning in the second half of 2008.
