I notice you use e-trade, should have realised of course. It's drawing tools are terrible. If you want to draw over the top of e-trade charts you might want to try chart overlay - it gives you the ability to draw Fib levels and the trend lines are just easier.
It's pretty cheap and you can download a free trail. Just google chart overlay.
