Good post Andy, and whilst I agree with your opening sentiment I'm still of the view that the BOM should have known what is going on with all functions of the company, otherwise if Chapman didn't divulge sensitive information to the Board then I assume he would be in a sheet load of trouble, from investors and governance bodies alike.
WDS seemed to have the support of the major players in the game, up until just recently so I hope you're right about client trust.
I have to admit Chapman had me on-side, I thought he was just what we needed, our most senior manager who seemed to have a sound, strong, yet cautious approach to putting our company back on track. He may still be that person but falling on his sword was the right thing to do.
