There are positives and negatives in every product. When solar panels first came out it was a major investment to install 15 panels onto your roof.

in the 2000's it was around $12000.00 to install. It had a 15 year payback, and more importantly if you had put the money in the bank you would have at the time received more interest than your electricity bill. Then came the governments incentives, then came the lowering interest rates, then came the 60c/kwh by back scheme and everybody went ballistic installing solar panels. The price of power has also continued to rise.

Solar panels are only about 19% efficient and I am sure that the windows will be similar. The use of refraction of the UV light to direct the UV to the edges also has qualities that have not been spoken about.

UV light is the most damaging of the lighting spectrum. It is what caused skin cancer, cracks and fades most products exposed to it.

Also being double glazed will make the window almost sound proof and a fantastic insulator for keeping out cold and heat, as well as protecting the curtains, carpet, paintings within the office from fading due to the entry of damaging UV. If the ground swell for lower emissions, greater efficiency, cost savings and our environment protection continues, maybe not today or tomorrow, but soon enough this produce will be synonymous with standard windows. All IMO.

    cheers
