Funny mo, they haven't been too bad here at Port Macquarie so far this year
But last year was like you are getting now, they were full on here
Not sure what causes the different growth explosions
Definitely keep the grass as short as you can and spray yourself well when outside
Try DEET if the Aerogard isn't good enough
Mainly on your legs cause apparently they start lower and work their way up
You might need to do lots of visual inspections till summer's over
