The husband of a lady I worked with about 2 months ago is an opthalmology consultant surgeon, and he worked briefly for them. He said they wanted quotas and contracted productivity increases per year. "Blood suckers" was the words I heard.
But, balance it with this: I was talking to another (mainly public) consultant eye surgeon last week and he knows a lot of the VGH guys in QLD that are happy with their lot and he says they are going to renew their contracts. Heard that a couple of days ago...
I'm still not sure what to make of it and I continue to quietly ask around whilst not looking like a dickhead...
