Can you read assay results. The amount of lithium in those results make it practically impossible even with magnification to find lithium minerals. If the rock was mineralised it would contain between about 8% and 16% spodumene which would allow geologist plenty to work with. Get a spectral probe and check before claiming the pegmatites are significant or at least qualify the announcement and explain why the pegmatite is significant in the absence of solid proof of it containing lithium minerals.

The geologist could have looked all he liked, most of the core contained less than 0.08% spodumene (and other Li minerals), if it's hard to spot 8% to 16% spodumene it's going to be absolutely impossible to spot 0.08%. Sorry but can you please read what I'm saying before posting again. I'm really getting sick of saying the same thing over and over again. It's not a hard concept to grasp. Most here I think have grasped it by now. The rock was fresh not weathered so that would have helped. As I said this is the Archaean so episodes of deformation and metamorphism would have made it a little harder to verify that the lithium minerals existed and if in doubt there are always tools as I said or take it to someone more experienced for a second opinion.
