Interim Tourism Minister, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum at the launching of the flight this afternoon said with South-East Australia being virtually an untapped area, Fiji is expected to rake in alot more in terms of tourist numbers and dollars.
According to Sayed Khaiyum, 58% of the Tourists that came in last year were Australians as they tend to holiday nearer to home.
Meanwhile, Karam Chand the head of their International Affairs Virgin Blue said this will now mean a saving of both money and time for their passengers and for Fiji.
