Looks like Aminex and KEY have new neighbours in Tanzania.

Ophir, which in partnership with BG Group have made two offshore gas discoveries in Block 4 have now farmed in to the East Pande Block, which lies between Nyuni and Blocks 3 & 4 and extends to the south of Nyuni & West Songo Songo.

Interestingly the map on Ophir's announcement shows the Nyuni block split into the development licence and the remaining exploration licence area.

For those familiar with the history of the Nyuni Block would know that the section of the East Pande Block between Nyuni and Blocks 3 & 4 once formed part of the Nyuni Block but it was relinquished by Aminex as it was too deep for their liking. They preferred to focus on shallow plays.
