Some positive news for tourism and FLT....
THE nation's $107 billion tourism industry welcomed the Coalition's decision to freeze the reviled $55 a head passenger movement charge for three years.
Releasing its tourism policy yesterday, the Coalition also said it would appoint foreign affairs spokeswoman Julie Bishop to a senior tourism ministry position should it win government.
Flight Centre chief executive Graham Turner said the Coalition's tourism policy sounded "pretty positive". "The reality is that government is not going to solve tourism issues, it will be up to the industry," Mr Turner said. "But every bit of help the tourism industry can get is positive."
