The Huntleys recommendation was put out along time ago, since then we have seen how efficiently the MAP management could handle an International Disaster Event level event in fine form (the Pope Funeral/pilgrimage) in its two Rome operations.
Any argument that the split MAP/Italian management would not prove successful got blown apart with the success of the handling of the violent upswing in passengers for that monthly period.
Last weeks figures on traffic volume showing a dramatic increase on every single runway that MAP have under management (47% in Rome).
The massive buying orders out of Tolouse for A320-330-380 seeing vigorous activity in airline spending and these aircraft carrying more passengers then Boeings will see a)More weight therefore more levies charged per landing and take off b)More heads per flight walking thru airports meaning more Big Macs More Booze and More Duty Free = More leasing.
Sydney Airport is going to be just where MAP started this thing is a World Beater in my opinion. Chart reflects the facts
