I don't know specifically that they don't 'double dip' on their charging method, (IE charge you for the actual data packets of the VoIP phone call and then at the 10MB/min call rate on top), but it would be a little cheeky if that were the case.

Prae, I agree with you completely, however I don't think it's a big issue. I'd suggest the main reason they activated the calling feature was to unify their apps, so as to make it more appealing to their old user & reseller database/network.

A better question to ask is @flexiroam is anyone at all even using the original Flexiroam app? There were like 800k+ downloads, surely it would be worth updating the app to basically say "you now must buy Flexiroam X"

Hang on, I just checked the app stores... No more Flexiroam.. However, I did find it on my old iPhone with $0.01c credit and yes it is still working..

I can't say the same for in the in App calling feature on FlexiroamX "error retrieving token". Prae I don't think they can take your $$ even if you were willing to use them. You guys give it a try.
