A third abscopal response is monumental news, in my opinion. It does not guarantee that DARRT-1 will deliver abscopal responses in every patient, but it improves the odds that DARRT results will be good.
Data should be published by early August. It will include 6-week responses for the 400 mg, 800 mg and 1200 mg cohorts; 12-week response for the 400 mg group; and probably the 12-week response for the 800 mg group. The 12-week data will give the best indication of efficacy.
In just six or seven weeks we will know whether DARRT-type treatment has the potential to deliver quick, safe and effective therapy. For the sake of cancer patients, I certainly hope so!
