Simgrund, Dub - thankyou. I feel strongly about this subject - my thinking self tells me 'we are in danger of war' - my soul rejects that!
Sim: I have met a number of Europeans who had a 'past' in an Eastern European country - they all carry some trauma - but never one who had actually been in a Gulag - your poor father, hope he saw the 'sunshine' here in Australia, at least at times.
Probably my last - long - post for a while, going off to England and Europe over Christmas and much of January.
