The short sell is increasing, but the price remain stable - SP only goes down in line with market. So if the price remain the same, short seller will eventually get burnt, SP will bounce back very hard.
I feel that someone is trying to target AAC to make acquisition at lower price, that is why price is capped, believe this will end soon.
