One would think the Tanzanian Govt would have made their demands known at the time the mining license was negotiated/granted. Isn't that a transparent and honest way to do business? Wouldn't that then give others the confidence to invest in the building of infrastructure of your country.
After all, they did negotiate - as part of the deal - for PHT Ltd to largely fund the relocation of the prison.
It is graphic evidence of insincerity to wait until actual mining is imminent before then decreeing that you are are going to take both a capital and cash flow interest in a company.
Maybe this is the way business is done in Africa and maybe that is why large swathes of Africa are still waiting for vital infrastructure to be built??
As I genuinely stated earlier...a real shame.
