A little dab of trigonometry will do the trick.
If you plan to drill vertically down and misalign at the start by 3 degrees off vertical, you'll be over 30 metres off target after 600 metres. Major error.
Clearly, if the misalignment occurs after partway drilling, the error will be less.
If the original drill line is not vertical but at an angle, there will still be a substantial error.
