I think the majors prefer to keep the company listed simply to instil the discipline and transparency required for a listed company. The savings from ASX compliance costs from delisting will be relatively minimal. There is no other reason for being listed. The last few capital raisings did not need the market. In fact, minorities have contributed little in terms of capital. Future raising will be the same i.e. coming from the major shareholders. Changes in major shareholdings have also been off market.
Unless, the majors can be convinced of a delisting/privatisation, it will be all talk and no action.
