You guys have got to be kidding. HC or any other online posts have very little to do with parenting - or even one on one communication. Parents did everything they could for you - even loved and supported you through your obnoxious teenage years ( obviously longer in some) - maybe helped fund your marriage, possibly helped with the first mortgage BUT always had your back.
Not all behaviours are learned from parents - if they were, there would be much less selfishness in the world. Give mum and dad a call. One day you will appreciate how much this means to them.
