Re. your smell probs: bicarb of soda. Make a paste with some water and smear over the surfaces. Let dry and brush off later.
Also leave a dish of it dry in the corner. Bag of onions halved and left will also absorb smell and act as disinfectant.
I like the natural remedies cos at least you're not poisoning yourself twice lol.
