Thanks, Pedro, for that interesting material from such a highly-placed source. Would it be a reasonable inference that Japan is actively seeking to diversify its supply sources, away from a dependence on China? If Japan is so openly expressing its concerns, then it is likely that other major non-Chinese users(such as Korea, the US, and the EU) may well feel the same way.
Chinese producers have an obvious freight cost advantage for customers within the country, but for customers in other countries, that advantage evaporates.
Let’s see how these concerns play out over the next few months, where it counts - in orders!
