    This happened as newbies at the agriculture college I attended in SA in the early 70's ---as a practical joke.

    We had to castrate a lamb 3 ways.

    First with a knife.
    Second with a rubber band.
    Third using a knife to cut the scrotum then rip out the nuggets using our teeth!
