GZ - I don't like to weigh in on the side of physical punishment etc. but I simply dislike the fact that we are not even allowed to see the faces of the perpetrators. If we all know who these people are, then society - the people around them - can bring pressure to bear on them. They feel they are watched and they should be watched, we need to become a little less isolationist and a bit more like the old village societies were, everyone sticking their noses into everybody's business wasn't such a bad thing - it kept social mores to a certain standard. But most likely we'll go from one extreme to the other, more Police, more enforcement more punishment under a right-wing government and we all know where that can lead.
