I work a casual night job as well as my business. I turn up early and do more than I need to because it makes things easier on everyone and after being self employed most of my life I’m used to working to a goal, not always a paycheck. Ill stay back if needed to make sure things are finished. I dont ask for anything in return and dont expect anything.
Last night I was told that coming in early was causing issues because other people were being lazy if I was rostered on because they could take it easy.
Their solution wasn’t to address the laziness of the people working, it was to address myself, the person that did more than was asked and ask that I do less.
