It's funny that in the UK the people love the red squirrel, but hate the grey ones.

They were both introduced species, it's just the red one were there first.

In continental Europe the reds are all over the place. I've never seen a grey there. There are a few black ones about too, but quite rare.

It seems to me the greys get a hard time.
