I think you hit the nail on the head... Nationals just turned into a bunch of patsy s .. whilst the Liberals coveted the inner city latte set. What really irks me is that the National Party sat back and accepted a religious tax inserted between the farmer and consumer, its just astonishing. Nationals have always supported mass immigration which saw the relative increase in the urban population and hence political power go with it. Interests of country people will never win out over the interest of urbanites.
I see the Shooters and Fishers as a much broader appeal. Guys and Gals on city also just want to go out and shoot and fish. They don't some bureaucrat looking over their shoulders. Unfortunately with Liberal and Labor mass immigration policies the pressure on boating infrastructure and fishing stocks, its inevitable people are going to be locked out of fishing grounds. Our way of life is disappearing.
