Izalokar, Gympie golds Southland was a debacle which we wont go into here, by the way the Chinese are resurrecting it as Austar but the woes continue and it was flooded last week. As far as the Powercoal mines being used up yes the synergies and easy won tons are done to gain much more will require large capital spending. You have to remember these are large older mines with huge amounts of underground infrastructure that has to be maintained. Unfortunately CEY s decision cut manning looks good on paper and boosts TPM but somebody has to look after everthing else that gets the coal out of the mine which means contractors and now that means higher costs. Yes i believe also that the money is in coking coal the problem we have is in QLD the have large open cuts that prodoce it for a fraction of the cost of underground mines in NSW and if i were to buy any stock i would lean to McCarthur myself. As for China its interesting to talk to people involved in projects over there, you mention ramping up production well they are at a huge rate local egineering consults who have people on the ground are talking about them building 1500 klm of new railway every week. So guess what I'm buying stocks that supply the services and products that China needs to satisfy the growth. Bradken, any of the local engineering consult, Cardno etc, Downer, United all those guys further up the food chain who value add, as W.B says "price makers not takers".
