This is a doozy. According to @mjp2 the physics of a a cooling stratosphere in the Northern Polar regions is not applicable the the physics in the Southern Polar regions.

Bloody models projecting a POLEWARD shift in the POLAR VORTEX if the stratosphere cools further. This IPCC report focus's a lot on the cooling stratosphere effects from a decrease in ozone will have. I.e it's cools the stratosphere. JUST like tropo GHG's do
