Mr Boldbaatar Tserenpuntsag is the Chairman and Co-Founder at Newcom Group. Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Tserenpuntsag was the First Deputy Director at the Mongolian Telecommunications Authority and a Member of the first Mongolian Parliament which was elected after the 1990 revolution. He also served as the General Director of the Mongolian Telecommunications Company. He co-founded the Economic Policy and Competitiveness Research Center of Mongolia and serves on its Board. Mr. Tserenpuntsag was the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia on Infrastructure Development Policy and later became the Commercial and Economic Counselor at the Embassy of Mongolia in Tokyo. He also worked as the President of Mongolia Links Company in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Tserenpuntsag started his career with the Ministry of Telecommunications of Mongolia and has served in the sector continuously for 12 years, of which since 1985 he had held senior and managerial level positions in telecommunications organizations. He is the Chairman of Mobicom Corporation and Eznis Airways. He participated in a number of management training and telecommunications technology and applications courses funded by UNDP, ITU and APTC in different countries. Mr. Tserenpuntsag earned a Master’s degree in Engineering from the Elecrotechnical Institute of Telecommunications in Leningrad, Russia.
