I agree. The objective is to buy high, and then eventually sell higher. New 6-month, 52-week, and breakout trades accompanied by high volume, are the three basic setups for buying. AX1, CLV, APT, APX, BVS, NXT, PAN, WTC, & XRO are among many other examples of strong stocks either breaking out, or making new 52-week highs.

I avoid parabolic run new 52-week highs because there is a high probability of a large price reversal. But fortunately CLV doesn't fit into that category.

By placing no more than 10% on each stock, with in very few cases 15% after pyramiding, there can be roughly 10 to 15 strong stocks in a portfolio. All stocks have a trailing stop loss just in case price starts to collapse. These are unusually high Beta stocks, hence the potential downside is also large.

If any stock falls below, or is trading below the 200-day moving average, it is either quickly sold or never bought. Based on my observations of market behaviour, anything below the 200-day EMA is dangerous territory. CLV has been trading above the 200-day EMA since early October, 2017.

Looking to buy CLV soon. $1.49 is the current ATR trailing stop loss.
