I am not an ideological anti-abortionist by any means. I respect a woman's choice. The worst case scenario is that abortion is sometimes necessary to save the woman's life. What an awful choice that must be for her or, if she is not able to make it, for those who must make it in her place.
But in these days of effective contraception and the morning after pill, even with their possible complications, surely abortion shouldn't be seen as the contraceptive method of choice.
But it's a totally different ball game , as far as I'm concerned, when a foetus survives an abortion to be born alive, assuming it is not damaged beyond reasonable life expectation. If a healthy child is to be left or assisted to die, as the "final solution", I think that any medical staff concerned are guilty of a crime against humanity even if not against the state.
