I just emailed the legal firm who lobbed the offer in Australia and the CEO of EIG Global Energy, Mr Robert Blair Thomas: the ultimate lead bidder.

I have done my sums on this offer and you appear to be "ripping off" the shareholders by about 44 cents a share with the special dividend and the franking account taken into account.
The franking account credit has around $AUST649,000,000; so this figure could support a special dividend of $AUST0-727 cents per share. I will be taking your unrealistic offer to my colleagues at the Australian Shareholders Association.
Hoping to have a response to this email by the end of this working week with a higher offer.
