more to the point that may have sounded bad. I've worked in Africa and some deplorable places. the kids often don't have access to schools and Mum/dad needs to work, so what happens is the kids come along to work and muck around abit. it's not like they are working hard and getting whipped they are proud of what they are doing, the parents would obviously be concerned. this is the problem. where I was as the kids had no school to go to and would hang around site they picked bananas and mangoes for lunch.
