I agree - something is going to be required to break the stalemate, including between SMLOLA and the Customary Heads. RTG might "win" in the short term but it would be a pyrrhic victory if they couldn't get their hands on the resource model etc fairly quickly (and for a reasonable price). Without some sort of agreement the ABG imposed moratorium will remain - which really won't help anyone.
This week's court proceedings in PNG and Australia will be interesting but, as these things go, are unlikely to lead to a resolution in the short term.
It's beyond sad that Bougainville should be in this position 29 years after the mine closed.
