We both know that 1) Merkel provided a qualified green light 2) Trump is distracted ATM and 3) Turkey is pouring materiel, their own special forces and armour into Idlib. Further to that Turkey has positioned Firtinas (155mm self propelled howitzers) all along the border and can strike any SAA or NDF position with pinpoint and devastating accuracy. Erdogan could establish air superiority and has threatened to elevate the conflict should his troops be hit in any way.

Realpolitik is of course in play so nothing is certain (other than for Trump's whodunnit distraction). As one poster intimated this is nothing but a filthy land grab by external parties. My previous posts also refer.
