After thinking about this business and their recent acquisition for Checkin.com.au I am at the conclusion that the online accommodation website is dead. One important factor that led to this conclusion was my previous conversation with the CEO of Wotif. One question that was asked was "What typifies your brand?". The answer was "trust". The loss of monies by both customers and suppliers have left a brand that once boasted 450,000 unique visitors a month in disrepute. This will take time and a large amount of resources to reverse. If you are looking to actually invest in this business have you asked this important question: Has the competitive environment for Checkin.com increased or decreased and will new ownership change that? The link below sums up what an investor must understand to invest in an online business. With this said this seems to be pointing to be a cracker of a trade. Someone is buying in very strongly and I am pretty confident we will see further price gains this week and next. So depending on you investing/trading criteria this is very interesting to watch.
