It wouldn't be the first time Tesla was forced to do a recall, and yet they're still going from strength to strength.
Since the original Roadster and Model S era, Tesla have successfully reduced cobalt use by over half and I'm confident that if Musk says they can reduce further, they will.
It's also worth noting that Tesla's main competitors are still a few steps behind in their battery tech, so the follow on effect of reduced cobalt usage could yet be a factor.
On the flip side, cobalt demand should remain strong due to the rising popularity of EV's well into the future.
