Ok let's run with that. You as a user may not care where your Netflix comes from, latency aside, but I think we can both agree that Netflix as a company cares very much about where that movie is stored and so does the company providing the movie to Netflix from a royalty and security view. And people were doing movies on-demand over networks well before the term Cloud was ever coined, commercially delivered VOD since 1994 to be precise. Nothing about "the cloud" is responsible for the user experience itself in this case.

Your asterix voip example is really an on-premise one, with remote access. No different to self service on the Internet from a traditional HR system. I have a voip phone system in my office too, I've never particular considered it as "Cloud", particularly when the local VOIP server goes down.

I would consider "the cloud" a terminology that lacks any technical preciseness but...
makes it feel like your data and services are magically floating in the sky above you..

Ok, if you say so. I guess it is a bit like magic. If you know how the illusion or trick is done, it somehow seems less fantastic.
Personally I'd prefer to not be in awe of such basic marketing illusions.

Now, we can interrupt our normally scheduled program to get back to talking about Weebit, which we can both agree has very good prospects.
