A very insightful article Stockman, holders, well worth reading and mulling over. The main thought that struck me was Botswana's need to manage wisely the rush for resources that is coming fast. It is so important that the country directly benefits from this activity and does not fall into the trap that so many resource rich, particularly oil rich countries have fallen into where the influential profit mightily at the expense of ordinary citizens. Nigeria is probably the poster child for this with pollution problems, corruption issues, etc. It is an exciting challenge to have, but China can drive this to suit themselves, and they will do this if they can get away with it. Botswana's challenge is to insure that these coal resources are exploited on it's terms. Botswana is certainly no Nigeria, but massive sums of money coming in to an economy need to be managed carefully. NMR will definitely benefit from this, possibly big time in the longer term. The game changer will be the rail system. I believe politically, the western route to Namibia would be the best choice for the rail line. Europe is expressing surprising interest in coal as well as Asia. JMO/DYOR.
