http://www.upstreamonline.com/live/article69122.ece Australian player Gas2Grid has received the green light from the Philippines' Department of Energy for plans to drill Nuevo Malolos-1, in SC44, off Cebu Island.
The well will be spudded by early October and will appraise the 1960 gas find at Malolos-1. The new probe will be sunk about 100 metres from the original well.
The new well will be sunk to 2300 metres and Gas2Grid added that it hopes to case the well and put it onto a one-month production test, conditional on the probe hitting the two gas-bearing sands which tested at 17 million cubic feet per day during the 1960 drill stem test.
Gas2Grid owns 100% of SC44, a 100,000 square kilometre licence onshore Cebu. The licence also holds the Zaragosa gas find.
