SSH (Brett Mitchell - who appeared surprised and unprepared) chaired it, the "then" secretary (Sophie Raven - who looked decidedly uncomfortable I had turned up), Neil Inwood (who Sophie originally advised was going to chair it), couple of "inside" geologists (s/holders), couple of "friendly" brokers, couple of Auditors (who only stayed for the 3 or 4 minute "formal" part) and myself.
I was also surprised because I had been emailing Sophie some months prior - to signal my intention of attending (I needed to sort flights/ accommodation etc). The date of the AGM then kept changing right up until it couldn't be changed any more. Once I arrived, I really got the feeling they were not expecting anyone's attendance - their embarrassment was easy to spot.
I want to stress I am not trying to be clever here. I have always liked what CXX has in front of it and I still do. I enjoyed meeting the above-mentioned people - bar none! I am simply confused and very disappointed as to why no Board members bothered to turn up to the only real annual opportunity to meet with their shareholders (standard for other companies) and more so that there was no explanation for their absence - both at the AGM and since! This is very strange.
I still don't know what to make of it to be honest - but I am sure it will work itself out in the end.
