What size casing did they run and to what depth did they run it? Is it pure speculation or does someone know something concrete?
Running casing is a normal part of doing a typical offshore DST. Open hole testing is rarely conducted any more. Once casing is run (if casing is run and not a P&A) to TD a DST string is run with a numerous tools (i.e OMNI valve, Select Tester Valve). Lastly TCP (tubing conveyed perforating) or wireline deployed guns are run to perforate zone of interest. A single packer arrangement will isolate the zone of interest and multiple packers are run if multiple zones are present are you want zonal isolation.
The well might have been cased for testing at a later date. I do know that some clients test by certain criteria i.e. if we see gas there is a no test if we see oil we test.
Would have thought we would have had a announcement by now.
