Karl Simich will find out tomorrow whether his punt on the Balkans mining industry has paid off when Sandfire Resources-backed Adriatic Metals hits the boards.
Sandfire put $2 million into Adriatic’s $10 million initial public offering. Its chief assets are the promising zinc polymetallic projects, Veovaca and Rupice, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mr Simich is one of several high-profile backers of Adriatic. Independence Group chairman Peter Bilbe is chairman of the Balkans-focused company while Julian Barnes, who founded RSG Global, is a director.
Perth advisory firm Discovery Capital Partners led the listing — its second foray in the Balkans this year.
