Fold in a depreciating Australian dollar and there you have it – the perfect recipe for inbound cross-border M&A.
Credit Suisse reckons that, despite $450 billion of activity in the current M&A cycle since 2013, there’s a lot more to come and China will be leading the way.
So as not to be merely spouting an abstract theory, the firm has named the most likely targets, as well as acquirers.
So let’s talk turkey.
Woolworths (WOW), the biggest target on the list with a $28bn market cap, is already reportedly in the sights of private equiteer KKK.
