AOP have just acquired the Rebecca Gold Project located in the Southern Laverton Tectonic Zone (LTZ), 150 km east of Kalgoorlie, WA. The LTZ is a regional scale shear/fault system that has proved to be one of the more productive gold trends in the WA goldfields. The northern portion of the LTZ hosts the Sunrise-Cleo, Wallaby, Lancefield and Granny Smith gold camps, that have a combined gold endowment of well over 20Moz.
Apollo are openly on the look out for opportunities to create shareholder value. Watch out for announcements with regard to additional aquisitions.
Roger Steinepreis was appointed a director on the 4th August. Having 10% of the shares he has a vested interest in seeing Apollo succeed.
Also interesting to see Craig Ian Burton become a substantial holder with 25 million shares. Burton is an experienced and active investor in start-up projects and businesses, both public listed and private. Over the last 15 years he has co-founded numerous development companies, with a focus upon the resources, oil and gas, mining services and agribusiness sectors. Three of the companies co-founded by Burton (Mirabela Nickel Ltd, Sally Malay Mining Ltd and Albidon Ltd) have made large discoveries, achieving market values of greater than $800 million each.
AOP is tightly held with the top 20 shareholders owning 41%.
