In an earlier post I supplied details of RIO'srequirements for Robe Valley, but not West Angelas – the latter isas follows, and I hope any word-linking gremlins in HC's softwaredoes not cause too much of a problem.

EPCM:Rio Tinto has appointed Jacobs Group Australia Pty Ltd as theprojects Engineering, Procurement, Construction Manager (EPCM). Allmajor agreements will be with Rio Tinto directly.

Theexpansion of the existing West Angelas iron ore mine site to providea replacement source of iron ore to sustain current capacity andenable the continued operation of the existing processing plant,stockyards and rail loop that link the mine to the Rio Tinto Pilbaranetwork.

TheProject includes:

• Rompad;

• Newprimary crushing facility and discharge conveyor;

• Modificationsto existing processing infrastructure;

• HVre-fuelling facility (including overland diesel pipeline);

• Secondarycrushing facility upgrade;

• Newsurge bin facility;

• Overlandconveyor to existing processing plant (approx. 10km);

• Powersupply upgrades;

• Dewateringand water infrastructure;

• Gaspipeline realignment (approx. 10km);

• Newnon-process infrastructure;

• Diversiondrains and levees;

• Heavyand light vehicle road networks;

• Extendingexisting communications infrastructure; and

• Temporaryconstruction accommodation.
