Thaksin/Proxies have won every Thai Election Since 2001, page-2

North-Eastern region (Isaan) polling (farming region of Thailand):

Pheu Thai had a 44.8% endorsement by respondents in the survey by the  E-Saan Center for Business and Economic Research released on Wednesday.

Future Forward was the surprising second favourite with 21.2% support, followed by Thai Raksa Chart (TRC) with 7.5%.

Palang Pracharath, which claims to have strong backing for the March 24 general election, was slightly behind TRC with 7.4%, ahead of Bhumjaithai, 6.1%, and the Democrat Party with only 3.9%.


Pheu Thai - Thaksin founded (pro-rural) party, the previous government with PM Yingluck Shinawatra, ousted by military coup.
Future Forward - New anti-coup party, with relatively young leaders.
Thai Raksa Chart - Pheu Thai aligned party, promoted the princess as PM candidate, potentially getting dissolved.  Voters would likely move to the above 2 parties.
Palang Pracharath - New party partnered with the junta.


So Isaan want to vote for anybody except the Junta.  35% of respondents earned between 5,000 and 10,000 baht a month ($225-450 AUD per month).  So the poorer people are against the junta, and those are the people who helped Thaksin win in the past.  But in a rigged election, the people's choice may not come out on top.

And if comparing to the Bangkok voters, they're less poor and are generally less likely to vote for Thaksin affiliates parties. Eg. Thai-wide poll from 1 month ago - Pheu Thai Party first with 32.72%; Palang Pracharath 24.16%; Democrat 14.92%; Future Forward 11.0%;

The Isaan poll is more recent, so would have been affected by the princess's nomination.
