That is pretty interesting, they could make an offer of $100m and likely succeed in buying out KCN, liquidate NE and get some back. Cease the legal claims (with potential maximum downside of about $1b for them), and retain Thailand's largest gold mine, and reopen it later.
Seems like a great idea compared to the downside risk, except that the downside will be shouldered by the tax payer.
Likely a lot of his buddies have $100m lying around, but they may not want to reveal it so plainly.
