Within half a day, the junta are trying to get her barred as a candidate.  That's a change from their usual reputation as protectors of the monarchy (including scores of lese majeste arrests when they're in power).  They're still trying to make it sound like a positive though - "the monarchy is a sacred institution that must not be drawn into politics", as in, politicians are forcing the monarchy into politics for their benefit.

Actually, they're hoping to disband the party that took her on.  That would have been one of their hopes for anything Shiniwatra related from the original date of the coup, though it's only an off-shoot party of Puea Thai.

It'll be an interesting week (and months) for Thai politics.
